Sharing the Burden...
Those is debt often face financial turmoil; in some cases this means families compromise their ability to pay for necessities. Serious debt can lead to house repossessions, fuel disconnection and bailiff action. Many people in debt feel ashamed and isolated. The pressures of coping alone can lead to depression and mental breakdown.
Our caseworkers give practical budgeting advice and take steps to ensure that our debt clients give appropriate priority to meeting their own basic needs. As we share the burden with clients, they can begin to face up to their problems - the first step to achieving financial security and stability.

Fighting Injustice...
There are many reasons why people are caught in poverty. Some people are disadvantaged by language or literacy problems. They need in-depth advice and representation to help them receive the welfare benefits due to them and to cope with financial matters.
We have a team of qualified solicitors, who are specialists in their field and who are experienced in dealing with clients from ethnic minority communities. We also have an experienced fuel debt and energy efficiency advisor.

Bringing Hope...
Many people are struggling to pay for their basic living requirements and are obliged to rely on a benefits system which is incredibly complicated and does not always work well. In these difficult and uncertain times, anyone can struggle to manage their situation and quickly fall into debt with creditors and energy companies.
We help by ensuring people claim benefits to which they are properly entitled; and where decisions made by the DWP appear incorrect or arbitrary, we act for clients in tribunal proceedings. By improving people's access to money and benefits advice and information, we are offering practical support to people and helping to release them from financial hardship and poverty. |
